What would be a safe load of bricks in a vauxhall astra?

I want to pick up some bricks for a home projects, and want a guide as to how many I can safely carry in a standard vauxhall astra hatchback - does anyone know what kind of load weight an astra can safely hold?|||You dont say which model or mark of Astra it is. That would have been helpfull. But i will do the best i can.If you have the handbook look at the loading capacity. If not? Guess the weight of 4 adults [200/250kgs ish?] and put that weight of bricks in. Remember to drop the rear seat and load the bricks evenly so that you dont unduly upset the cars balance.Have fun.|||Thanks everyone. Much appreciated.

|||The total number of bricks, to be safe is fifty bricks use a old piece of plywood under.|||check the door tag from the factory---look at the G.V.W--(gross vehicle weight)-----then figure out the weight of each brick---or load it up untill the rear springs have a slight sag but not yet bottomed out.if you over load --you could break a spring, or lose control of the vehicle, or the brakes may not stop it.---best might be --is use a trailer--but check the tongue weight on the trailer.it's usually stamped in the metal on teh tongue|||Read the owners manual or look on the door jam...
